“AUGUST” screened 2 weeks ago at the 38th Giffoni Film Festival in Giffoni, Italy, and I had the pleasure to attend. Giffoni is a festival for kids, and there were over 300 teenagers at the screening, and afterwards, several had great and meaningful comments. Check out pictures in the Image Gallery.
Last weekend, we had a record four screenings across the west in California, Texas and Idaho. And at the Bayou City International Film Festival in Houston, “AUGUST” took home the Best Student Short Award!
Upcoming in September are the Schweitzer Lakedance International Film Festival in Idaho and the Southern Winds Film Festival in Oklahoma, and in December, a screening in New York at the NewFilmmakers Fall Screening Series. “AUGUST” is up for the Best Short Narrative and A Seriously Good Movie Awards at the Southern Winds Film Festival.
“AUGUST” has been officially selected for the Y GEN competitive section at the 38th edition of the Giffoni Film Festival, which will take place from the 18th to the 26th July 2008 near Salerno, Italy. The film will compete for the SILVER GRYPHON AWARD, and the festival Jury, composed of 350 teenagers from 15 to 17 years of age, extends its congratulations to the cast and crew!
“Of all the festivals, the Giffoni Film Festival is the most necessary one.” This is the final sentence of a letter signed by François Truffaut which has become an important heritage with reference to his visit to the GFF in 1982.
