We’ve just had our major production meeting today gearing everyone up for production of the film. Equipment, cast, locations and crew are coming together as the calm before the storms peaks over the horizon.

Only ONE WEEK until production, and things are moving along nicely! We just finished our tech scout for locations yesterday, and everything looks great! The past few weeks we’ve been locking locations, working on pitching our project to such vendors and had some great meetings with Kodak and Deluxe Labs. Skate clothing company VOLCOM has so genersouly contributed to the clothing style of the movie, to whom we are so very thankful. Key crew are shaping up, and the shot list and shooting schedule is being solidified. It’s going to be great!

GREENLIT! We have gone through the round of production and safety meetings with the school faculty and have been officially given the go ahead to begin production. We’ve making a movie!

Today we had our camera test, where we worked through the style of lighting and look of the film, and we also tested some different options for the visual effects of the film, utilizing green screen and lens effects.

We are excited about the talent we’ve cast, having found the perfect actor to play “August” as well as our other eight key cast members!

Many of the key crew members have been locked for the film, including production and costume designers. Our forth and final round of auditions will be held this weekend, with the actors set to be finalized and cast by the middle of next week. Location scouting and fundraising continues.

Our first round of auditions are being held this weekend, and thus, the anticipation builds as our search begins to find the perfect “August.”

The initial groundwork has been laid, and pre-production is now in full force. The first round of meetings with the mentoring faculty have taken place, and we will moving into casting and locations soon. Our shooting dates for the last two weekends in March have been locked.
