It’s one year later and the movie is finally finshed. The negative has been cut, all visual effects have been perfected, and at long last today we had our 5.1 Dolby Digital layback mix. What a long road it’s been, and thank you to everyone along the way who helped out and gave their support for the film. I hope you will enjoy the final film!

The AUGUST Cast & Crew Screening is now official! We are joining with 2 other USC Thesis films for our premiere coming up on Friday, April 13th @ the USC Norris Theatre, 7:30pm. Admission is FREE! (more…)

The 5.1 Sound Mix is finished. All that’s left is negative cutting and final touches on the visual effects. SO CLOSE!

The score for the film has been completed; it’s pretty amazing I must say.. The sound design and editing with the crew over at The Engine Room Studios in Hollywood is nearing completion (and it’s sounding awesome!). And then we are onto the fun of mixing this baby in 5.1 surround sound!

After a few rounds of meeting with composer John Samuel Hanson and about half of the cues completed, we are close to finishing the music for the film! It’s sounding great, much better than I could have ever imagined or hoped for.

After a 4 and a half months of editing, we are finally Picture Locked on AUGUST. The running time comes in at just over 16 minutes, and now we’re onto sound, score and visual effects.

Post-production picture editing begins down the road of shaping the film into what will be the final movie. Stay tuned for updates and status of our progress toward the completion of August!

Wrap Party! To celebrate the completion of the film, we enjoyed time of reminicsing and hanging out at Universal Studios Citywalk. Over 40 members of our cast and crew were in attendance and it was good to see each other again after working so closely with one another during production. Good eats, games and fun!

We have finished principal photography on August, and everything has come together perfectly. Today was our longest and most trying day, but we went out with a bang and are excited about the film and what lies ahead! Now we are on to return all of our rented camera and production equipment and await the processing of the film and transfer to videotape for editing. We thank everyone who played a part in the film, from talent, to crew, to all of our locations and school and equipment rental contacts. We could not have done it without you!

Day 4 of shooting is complete, and production as a whole on August is half over. We are so thrilled that everything is going well and despite a few creative and technical snags the last couple of days and our very tight schedule today, the crew and the producers have come through splendidly, and we managed to get what we needed. Now we amp up for underwater shooting on Thursday and get ready to have some fun (hopefully)!
